The GTsN-317 Reactor Coolant Pump is a pumping unit consisting of a vertical single-stage pump, electric motor and auxiliary systems.
The pump casing is mounted on a welded support frame supported at spherical bearings allowing the pump unit to move due to the action of temperature expansions of the primary circuit.
The rotor of the vertical asynchronous motor has an increased flywheel mass for providing inertial pump run-out at emergency shutdowns.
A gear-type coupling connects the motor rotor and the pump shaft.
The pump shaft rotates in two bearings: in a bottom radial bearing lubricated with the independent circuit water and an upper radial-axial bearing lubricated with oil supplied from the outer oil system.
The motor rotor rotates in bearings lubricated with oil supplied from the outer oil system.
The unit of the mechanical seal shaft that prevents leakages of the primary circuit water consists of a separating stage, end stage and two main stages of a hydrostatic type to which the injection water is supplied from the outer plant system.
All parts and units of the pump contacting with the primary circuit water are made of stainless corrosion-resistant steels unsusceptible to intercrystalline corrosion.
 GTsN-396
The GTsN-396 Reactor Coolant Pump is designed for operation of the network with a frequency of 60Hz.
Main stages of the mechanical seal are performed face.
The pump radial-axial bearing is cooled and lubricated with water.
The motor has an oil bath lubricating system.
The GTsN-396 Reactor Coolant Pump is designed to circulate the coolant in the primary circuit at NPP with WWER-440, located in regions of high seismicity with tropical maritime climate.
 GTsN-1309
The GTsN-1309 Reactor Coolant Pump is designed for installation at new NPPs with WWER-440. It can be used for replacing pumps at acting NPPs. Only removable parts of the GTsN-310 and GTsN-317 can be replaced as the pump casing and support frames are unified.
The GTsN-1309 is high-reliable, fire-safe and antiseismic, which are ensured by using the following specially designed equipment:
Radial-axial bearing, shaft seal, motor.
The radial-axial bearing of the pump is cooled and lubricated with water instead of oil and it is capable of reacting axial loads of up to 40 tons that allowed the outer recirculating lubricating system to be eliminated.
The mechanical face seal with minor leakages (maximum leakages up to 50 l/hr) does not require supplying the locking water from the power plant system. It consists of two stages
There is an oil-bath lubricating system using "ÎÌÒÈ" fire-resistant oil in the motor.
Seismic resistance of the GTsN-1309 is substantiated by calculations and it is confirmed by full-scale tests of a prototype on a special vibroplatform.
 GTsN-1391
High reliability, longevity
The GTsN-1391 Reactor Coolant Pump is designed to circulate the coolant in the closed circuit of NPP with WWER-1000 (earthquake-resistant design).
The pump is centrifugal, single-stage, vertical with a unit of a face shaft seal, cantilever impeller, axial water supply and a remote asynchronous motor (with a flywheel).
Just before switching on the pump to decrease frictional forces in operational pairs of the radial-axial bearing an unloading electromagnet is used.
There are two unfastening zones for reacting seismic loads.
There are stops to restrict the pump emergency moving when the primary circuit pipe-line is broken.
Bearings are cooled and lubricated with water.
High reliability, long continuous operation.
Materials:
radial bearing and operational seal unit - silica graphite
radial bearing - graphite-fluoroplast on steel
